General Mills today announced a preliminary decision to close its manufacturing facility in Lodi, Calif.

The decision is subject to negotiation with union officials, and it would consolidate manufacturing at other facilities within the General Mills supply chain. If the decision becomes final, the company expects the facility would close near the end of 2015.

A closure would impact approximately 430 employees.

General Mills has operated in Lodi since 1947. The plant primarily manufactures cereal.
