Investing in the people behind our food and the communities it reaches
Good food starts with people. The farmers who grow our ingredients, the employees who make and market our products, the communities where we operate and the families who bring our food home.
We show up for all of them, and that shapes how we invest our time and resources and where we focus.
How we support people
We focus on creating a workplace where employees feel valued and can grow, respecting human rights throughout our business and value chain, strengthening the neighborhoods and regions we’re part of, and expanding food access for high-need communities and individuals.
These aren't separate priorities. They reflect the same belief: people are better off when they are supported.
Creating a great place to work
General Mills is strongest when employees are supported and able to do their best work.
We employ around 30,000 people globally and take a whole-person approach to well-being, so people can bring their full selves to work, feel supported and grow their careers. That means investing in development, well-being and a culture where belonging is a daily reality, not simply a stated value.
In 2025, 86% of employees said General Mills is a great place to work, and 82% said they feel like they belong at General Mills.
Supporting communities around the world
We invest in the places where we operate through philanthropic giving, partnerships and community engagement.
In fiscal 2025, General Mills contributed more than $83 million in charitable giving globally and supported 46 hometown communities around the world.
Our hometown approach is designed to reflect local needs rather than apply a single template. That approach helps the impact go further and last longer.
Expanding food access
Hunger-relief is core to how we show up in communities.
Through food donations, philanthropy, volunteerism and partnerships, we work to improve access to nutritious, affordable food for families who need it most.
This reflects a broader belief: food security and community well-being are closely linked, and we aim to make a difference in both.
Giving time, talent and funding
Our employees play a key role in how we create impact.
More than 70% of employees participate in volunteer efforts, contributing skills and their time to local organizations and community initiatives.
We support that through our General Mills match program and volunteer opportunities that help multiply our impact in communities.
We encourage and empower our employees to apply and share their skills, expertise and passion to make a difference.
Our role across the food system
Our impact on people extends beyond our own workforce.
We are taking actions within and beyond our supply chains to respect the rights of all workers and communities across our value chain.
We are engaging farmers, suppliers and partners to strengthen livelihoods and communities across the food system, through training, collaboration and investment that help build resilience and opportunity over time.
Our commitment
We believe that supporting people — inside and outside our company — is essential to building a strong and sustainable business.
By investing in our employees, supporting communities and expanding access to food, we aim to create positive impact across our value chain.
