General Mills finalizes decision to close Lodi, Calif., facility
General Mills announced today it will close its manufacturing facility in Lodi, Calif., near the end of 2015.
The company had announced a preliminary decision on Sept. 18, subject to negotiation with union officials. Those discussions are now complete, and the company has begun a review of the necessary processes and transition steps to consolidate manufacturing at other facilities within the General Mills supply chain.
The closure will impact approximately 430 employees. General Mills said it will provide severance and transition benefits to all affected employees.
General Mills has operated in Lodi since 1947. The plant primarily manufactures cereal.
