Supporting farmers and our food system
Topsoil is vital for growing food, yet it’s eroding at an alarming rate. By supporting sustainable farming practices, we can help farmers grow food in a way that can build healthy soil, improve water quality and resilience, foster biodiversity and support farmer profitability. This approach to farming is focused on renewing and regenerating the earth, but its benefits go far beyond that. It’s helping build more thriving ecosystems and communities that benefit both people and our planet.
In 2023, we joined forces with Walmart and made it our shared goal to advance regenerative agriculture across 600,000 acres in the U.S. by 2030.
Shared progress
We’re proud of our progress so far. With support from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), General Mills and Walmart have distributed grants to organizations helping farmers implement regenerative agriculture management. These grants will fund projects in the Northern and Southern Plains, which are essential wheat growing regions that supply ingredients for beloved brands like Pillsbury and Blue Buffalo.
