Jonathan Ness

Chief Supply Chain Officer

Jonathan Ness is the chief supply chain officer at General Mills, responsible for supply chain strategy and execution, including Sourcing, Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Customer Operations and Health, Safety and Environment. From buying ingredients used by our iconic brands like Pillsbury, Cheerios, Nature Valley, Blue Buffalo and more, to ensuring their safe and efficient distribution, General Mills’ supply chain organization plays a critical role in Making Food the World Loves.

Prior to leading supply chain, Ness served as vice president, Supply Chain, Strategy, Finance and Operations, where he led the function’s strategy and digital transformation initiatives as well as its Global Finance team. As part of this role, Ness led the modernization of supply chain finance processes, improving financial predictability and advancing the use of technology and shared services.

Ness previously held key finance leadership roles, including leading Global Finance Capabilities, Finance Transformation, Global Integrated Business Planning, Corporate Finance, North America Snacks, as well as a number of supply chain and North America Foodservice commercial finance roles.

Prior to General Mills, Ness was an officer in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in procurement.

Ness holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from South Dakota State University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Oklahoma.
