Jim Murphy is president of our Meals and Baking division, where he is responsible for Helper dinner mixes, Old El Paso Mexican foods, Progresso soup, Totino's hot snacks and pizza, and baking products marketed under the Betty Crocker and Pillsbury brands.

Previous to that, Murphy was president of the U.S. Cereal operating unit, which comprises the broad portfolio of brands that includes Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Chex, Lucky Charms and Wheaties.

He was named to that position in 2012.

Before that, he was senior vice president of Global Strategy & Growth, where he was responsible for bringing forth new growth opportunities through external mergers, partnerships, strategic relationships and acquisitions.

Before that, Murphy was president of the Meals division.

Murphy joined General Mills in 1992. His marketing experience has spanned a cross-section of the company's major businesses, including Meals, Big G cereal, Snacks and Baking Products.

Murphy was elected a General Mills vice president in December 2003 and was promoted to president of the Meals division in 2006. He was named senior vice president in 2010.
