Our community

Our aim is to build strong, resilient and sustainable communities.

It's about the grandkids.

We work with people locally and globally to make the world better.
Globally, one in every nine people does not have enough food to lead a healthy, active life.

We make a variety of quality food more available through collaborations with organizations such as:

  • Feeding America
  • The Global FoodBanking Network
  • Xerces Society
  • The Nature Conservancy

We work hard to remove barriers to food through strategic initiatives, grant-making, food donations and knowledge sharing.

A legacy of impact

General Mills has connected people and resources since our earliest days in the 1800s, when flour was crucial in every home.

Because of combustible dust, flour could be dangerous to produce.

Our founder  didn't keep it to himself when he succeeded in adopting new technology to make his mills safer.

He shared that knowledge with competitors, so their workers could be safer and flour would not be in short supply.

Today

Our commitment to building strong communities includes:
