The General Mills Foundation was created in 1954 to focus the Company’s philanthropic resources on community needs. The Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to nonprofit organizations that create sustainable community improvement in the areas of youth nutrition and fitness, social services, education and arts and culture. The General Mills Foundation is based in Minneapolis at the General Mills World Headquarters. Since the General Mills Foundation was created, it has awarded over $420 million to nonprofit organizations in our communities. In fiscal 2009, the Foundation contributed more than $21 million in grants in our communities. |
