Site Visit Information
If your organization applies for a 2008 Celebrating Communities of Color grant,
we may request a site visit during the month of October. The purpose of the
site visit is for us to learn more about your organization and/or the proposed
program. We are physically unable to visit every organization that applies for
a grant, but will visit as many as necessary to obtain a good understanding of
the proposals we receive from your organizations.
Overview of Site Visits
All site visits will last approximately 45 minutes and will be attended by
three to four General Mills representatives. There will be a representative
from the General Mills Foundation, as well as two to three other General Mills
employees from various departments. Allowing our employees the opportunity to
participate in site visits increases the quality of discussion and questions at
the site visit, and improves the quality of the evaluation process.
Site Visit Discussion Topics
Please be prepared to cover the following topics during your site
visit:
-
Brief overview of the organization including its top priorities/focus areas.
-
Overview of proposed program including the goal(s) and components.
-
Understanding of what impact this program will have on your community. How is
it unique/innovative?
Recommended Presentation Materials (not mandatory).
-
Materials with information requested above, unless already included in the
proposal.
-
Site tour for the General Mills representatives.
The site visits are meant to be casual but informative. Please contact Adrienne
Jordan in the General Mills Community Action office if your organization is
chosen for a site visit and you have additional questions.
