Internships

Our 10-week internships give you experience in the dynamic world of consumer foods sales. You'll likely spend your summer at one of our regional business centers learning the fundamentals of trade and promotion. You may also work with and actively sell to our customers at the retail and/or direct level. If you're looking to spend a challenging summer learning our business, the Company of Champions is looking for you.

The Summer Internship program will welcome you on board as a part of our professional Sales team. Working full-time at General Mills will show you an atmosphere that fosters learning, challenges and personal excellence. One of the most valued assets of General Mills is the thousands of dedicated employees. During an internship you will meet many interesting people from various diverse backgrounds, and you will build a network of friendships and contacts. The program is designed to assist interns with housing and relocation. During a ten-week Summer Internship, individuals will receive a very competitive wage and the use of a company car.

The intern experience with General Mills has been designed with the intern's needs in mind. The experience is a comprehensive hands-on approach that will give you insight and exposure to General Mills and the consumer product industry. Our goal is to meet or exceed all your internship goals and objectives. This will be evident through the framework from which your experience will be built. Areas of concentration for the internship include training provided by local management, business center and field experience, work/life balance, and feedback sessions.

Preferred candidates should demonstrate well developed communication and interpersonal skills, leadership experience and strong analytical and problem solving skills. BS or BA degrees in business administration, marketing, economics, finance or liberal arts are preferred.
