Internships

Our Intern program serves two purposes. It identifies top talent for potential full-time positions at General Mills. They also provide exposure to the fields of Purchasing and Supply Chain, helping you learn first-hand through meaningful work assignments.

Here are some bottom-line business results our interns have achieved:

• Establishing a consortium, leveraging purchasing power with other companies, to purchase ingredients at a more competitive price.
• Realizing cost savings through economic ordering patterns totaling $100,000.
• Identifying potential suppliers for new products currently in development.
• Establishing purchasing opportunities using e-commerce techniques and minority suppliers.

In addition to similar projects and assignments, internships include networking with Purchasing leaders, giving an understanding of the role Purchasing plays in General Mills' success. Interns will learn about the innovative environment that makes General Mills an employer of choice. A variety of educational and social activities are planned with other General Mills interns throughout the summer.
