These are a few examples of the accomplishments of some of our recent Operations/Engineering interns.

  • Identified $110,000 in cost savings by optimizing package fill rates through analysis of packaging and processing systems.
  • Redesigned ingredient feed system, resulting in $150,000 cost savings through reduced overuse, bulk pricing for ingredients, reduced wastes and improved labor efficiencies.
  • Used mill product flow charts to develop PLC programs, preparing mill for future automation projects and allowing mill operators to monitor entire mill from one central location.
  • Wrote and installed capital project to upgrade flow meters, improving accuracy in controlling vitamin feed system.
  • Designed and implemented capital project to upgrade starch system, supporting product reformulation and resulting in improved safety and increased cost savings.
