Internships
Our Human Resources internship program serves two purposes. First, to identify top talent for potential full-time positions at General Mills and second to provide meaningful experiences in the field, helping you learn first-hand through real-world projects and assignments.
These are a few examples of the accomplishments of some of our recent HR interns.
- Developed and rolled out a wage incentive planning tool for Plant HR Managers.
- Designed and implemented a plant performance management process for wage employees.
- Assisted with union contract negotiations.
- Conducted a benefit analysis of plant temporary labor usages and reviewed co-employment issues.
- Provided generalist human resources support to operating department.
- Researched and made recommendations on developing a technical career path within a corporate function.
- Developed new wage hiring process.
- Reorganized and centralized a corporate staff group.
- Developed division-wide assessment and development center for directors.
Our interns network with HR and business leaders, who provide an understanding of HR's role in General Mills' success. Experiencing first-hand the innovative environment that makes General Mills an employer of choice, interns engage in a variety of educational and social activities with other General Mills interns throughout the summer.
