Job Overview

Financial Analyst

As a financial analyst, you will be an integral part of the business team and are expected to contribute your ideas and suggestions from your first day.

You will rotate through several assignments during your first three years with the company. Although specific responsibilities vary with assignment, some of our Financial Analysts:

  • Act as business advocates to the operating divisions
  • Develop and manage department budgets
  • Manage financial systems
  • Drive superior utilization of resources
  • Analyze capital investment projects
  • Perform manufacturing and inventory accounting

Training and Development

Our analysts typically rotate through a couple different positions during their first few years with the company. These real world assignments provide exposure to various areas of the company, allowing you to be an integral team member in each area. Responsibilities vary based on the specific assignment.

We offer more development opportunities as well, like training classes at the General Mills Institute. These classes include PC tools and systems, various business overviews and personal development courses. In addition to formal learning, we invite new hires to attend a Financial Seminar Series, designed to expose you to a wide range of financial topics that provide insight into financial management's role in our success.

Education

Successful Financial Analyst candidates have a B.S. or B.A. degree in finance, economics, accounting or business administration with an accounting or finance concentration
