Job Overview

Senior Financial Analyst

As a senior financial analyst, you will be a key team member creating strategic business partnerships and formulating business strategy.

Initial assignments are designed to expose you to all facets of our global businesses and to prepare you for significant management responsibilities. Although specific assignments vary year to year, some of our senior financial analysts:

  • Lead long term, strategic planning process
  • Evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities
  • Provide financial leadership for key strategic brand decisions
  • Develop risk management tools
  • Analyze capital investment opportunities
  • Recommend merchandising strategies for brands

Training and Development

Our analysts typically rotate through a couple of different positions during their first two years with the company. These real world assignments provide exposure to various areas of the company, allowing you to be an integral team member in each area. Responsibilities vary based on the specific assignment.

We offer more development opportunities as well, such as training classes at the General Mills Institute. These classes include PC tools and systems, various business overviews and personal development courses. In addition to formal learning, we invite new hires to attend a Financial Seminar Series, designed to expose you to a wide range of financial topics that provide insight into financial management's role in our success.


Education

Successful senior financial analyst candidates typically have an MBA degree in finance and will have previous experience demonstrating superior performance, a broad business perspective, a practical and creative approach to problem solving, and sound business acumen
