Hunger and nutrition

General Mills is consistently ranked among the topĀ 10 contributors of food in the United States.

To solidify its commitment to Feeding America and the Global FoodBanking Network, General Mills donated nearly $43 million in food to support U.S. and international food banks last fiscal year.

General Mills also steps forward to help support hungry victims of natural disasters with food donations to organizations such as the American Red Cross.

For the world's poorest families, healthy nutrition and exercise usually take a back seat to the struggles of day-to-day living. In the United States, we work to combat that with cooking classes, nutrition education and exercise programs funded by our Champions for Healthy Kids grants.

In places such as Africa, we help women build a business so that they can provide food for their families.

In Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Kenya, 300 of our food scientists, engineers, marketers and other volunteers help to produce healthy, fortified food products through our Partners in Food Solutions effort.

Wherever we get involved, the goal is to share our knowledge and to live our mission of Nourishing Lives.
