2012 Champions for Healthy Kids Legacy Awards: Background and FAQ
In 2002, the General Mills Foundation announced a bold 10-year initiative with the American Dietetic Association Foundation and the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports to improve the nutrition and fitness of America’s youth.
To help us celebrate the 10th year of Champions for Healthy Kids, we are inviting all eligible past national Champions for Healthy Kids Awards recipients to apply for one of ten, $50,000 Champions for Healthy Kids Legacy Awards.
Apply here. Invite code: wearethechampions |
Those continuing to serve youth with their previously awarded programs are encouraged to review the Legacy Award application if your organization revenue exceeds the $150,000 annual revenue threshold and eligibility requirement.*
The grant application and application process is similar to the past, and is open until December 15th 5:00pm CST. Award recipients will be notified in May 2012.
*Due to the $50,000 grant level of Legacy Awards, applying grantee organizations will be required to have revenue in excess of $150,000 annually. This $150,000 revenue threshold is due to General Mills Foundation compliance with the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (IRC). The Foundation as a private foundation is required to comply with the IRC rules and regulations regarding the public support test of a grantee organization. As a result, an organization must have revenue in excess of $150,000 annually in order for the Foundation to consider the application for a $50,000 CHK grant.
