General Mills has a commitment to help build strong communities.
Our approach falls under four broad categories:
- Grants from the General Mills Foundation to strengthen communities.
- Product donations to Feeding America to stock food banks and support disaster-relief efforts.
- Charitable corporate contributions and brand philanthropy that support worthy causes like the fight against breast cancer.
- Employee citizenship that enhances our financial contributions, such as helping small food processors and farmers in Malawi.
The General Mills Foundation allocates funds to nonprofit organizations that have helped over 5 million kids in the U.S. lead healthy, active lifestyles.
We also impact communities through brand partnerships - such as Box Tops for Education, which has raised more than $525 million for schools since 1996.
And we impact communities through innovative nonprofit organizations and programs that improve our headquarters and manufacturing communities.
The focus there is on youth nutrition, fitness and education.
Our international impact is felt in areas of disaster relief, volunteerism and through programs like Join My Village.
We work closely with organizations like the United Way, CARE International and Feeding America, the largest hunger relief organization in the United States.
