From meals to yogurt to cereal and snacks, here's at least a month's worth of new products.

Cereal
Households that love Honey Nut Cheerios are getting a variation on the No. 1 cereal in the category with Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch, a mix of Honey Nut O’s, crunchy clusters and crispy wheat flakes.  

The combination of flakes and clusters that delivers 16 grams of whole grains per serving will be in stores after the first of the year.

Snacks
It seems that those with the healthiest diets consume 36 percent more snack meals a year than the average consumer.

That's according to market resercah firm. NPD Group.

Another piece of news: Research firm Mintel indicates that food and beverages continue to contain fewer ingredients.

The No. 1 organic grain bar brand, Cascadian Farm, is in step with that trend as it introduces Oats & Honey, Oats & Cocoa and Peanut Butter flavors in a crunchy granola bar.

Dovetailing with the rising trend in chicken consumption, the Helper line is introducing Parmesan Crusted Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken for 2013.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, Americans eat twice as much chicken as they did in 1970, considered to be a result of Americans’ attempt to eat healthier.

Yogurt
Is there still room for yogurt sales to grow?

Plenty of room, according to a report by researcher Global Industry Analysts. Yoplait agrees, and is even introducing a yogurt for babies.

The researcher’s report cites people’s interest in a healthy lifestyle and functional foods – offerings that might have health benefits – as two drivers behind yogurt growth.
