Nourishing Communities
Box Tops for Education has raised more than $300 million for K-8 schools in the United States spanning the past 13 years.
We nourish our communities through programs such as Box Tops for Education, where parents and students can earn cash for their schools by clipping Box Tops from our products.
Schools use the money that is raised to buy things such as computers, books and playground equipment. .
We also nourish communities by volunteering.
More than 80 percent of our employees volunteer, often in programs sponsored by General Mills such as: Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Paint-A-Thon and many school and educational partnerships.
And since the General Mills Foundation was created in 1954, it has awarded more than $420 million to nonprofit organizations in our communities. In fiscal 2009, the Foundation contributed nearly $21 million in grants in our communities.
