Ivan Pollard joined General Mills in July 2017 as chief marketing officer.

He identifies the smartest ways to engage consumers, customers and constituents with content, conversations, experiences and transactions worldwide with “remarkably modern marketing”.
Ivan came to General Mills from The Coca-Cola Company where for seven years he was vice president of Global Connections, and later the senior vice president of Strategic Marketing, North America.
Prior to joining The Coca-Coca Company, Pollard was a global partner in Naked Communications, the world’s largest connections planning company.
Pollard's nearly three decades of communications planning includes agencies such as BMP, DDB Needham and Wieden+Kennedy. He opened his own company in the late 1990s. Unity was the first independent strategic communications planning agency in the world.
Ivan has worked for global clients, such as Nike, Microsoft, Adidas, Vodafone, Sony, Coca-Cola, 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm, where he created Jedi marketing tricks for the global connections strategies for Star Wars Episodes I, II and III.
He lives in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, with his wife Mary and their three children.
