Legal

For lawyers, General Mills is cutting-edge legal issues, world-class business clients and a collegial environment.

Our lawyers advise internal clients in almost every practice area, from antitrust to food law.

Your success will be defined by your legal expertise, business savvy, hard work, a strong team orientation and creativity.

Most lawyers and paralegals work at the world headquarters in Minneapolis, although there are international opportunities in Europe and Asia.

Most lawyers join the law department with three to seven years of experience.

Technical excellence, superior writing and strong academic credentials are assumed. Business focus and problem-solving skills are the hallmarks of our attorneys. That’s because our business is global, complex and rapidly changing.

General Mills also has opportunities for paralegal professionals. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate with related background, along with exceptional communication, research and interpersonal skills, and solid judgment.

Education
Competitive candidates for positions in the law department have a J.D. or an equivalent degree.
